Crafting a 3 year old birthday party ~ Butterfly style.

Friday, August 3, 2012

Well, tomorrow is my little love's 3rd birthday party and I still have so much to do! Am I absolutely insane to be throwing such a big soiree for the munchkin, this close to delivering another? Probably. But it seems I just can't help myself.
These are the things about motherhood that bring me joy. And I know when little dude comes along, she'll be feeling all sorts of new and scary emotions like jealousy, competition and out-right confusion that another little person has entered her domain and taken her mommy's attention. So I'm going to do my best to make her feel loved and important spoil her rotten, while I'm still able standing.
In this case, her request was butterfly everything, so I started with the invitations. A Martha Stewart butterfly punch and construction paper, personalized envelopes and enclosures. And I kinda think these butterfly snack bags (I stayed up way too late last night making)... are pretty damn cute, if I do say so myself.
Much more to share and show you, which I'll be sure to capture in pictures on the day. But for now, I must step away from the computer and figure out how to ice a (specifically requested) yellow and pink butterfly birthday cake.
Here's hoping for a reaction like this tomorrow...
