The Same Dress for 30 Days

I love this girl. Could you do this?

Check her out here and be inspired.

She makes a very good point that most fashion blogs are centered around the newest outfit, newest shoes, new, new, new... more and more clothes. While I'm just as tempted as the next girl to consume and shop (I mean, I'm still lusting after these jeans for God's sake.) I personally think it's more interesting and creative to use what you have and make it fresh. Less consumption = more creativity.  And isn't fashion supposed to be an expression of art anyway? How individual can you be when you're just purchasing to keep up with the masses?

I'm already contemplating an item of my own that could be this versatile.

  1. Wow, absolutely crazy idea! But I am in love with it. The dress is perfect and I can see how it can be versatile. I'm definitely going to follow her blog and see how this all turns out! Thanks for posting this. Very cool idea!

  3. Totally agreed. I've been meaning to go on a shopping ban for a month and shop the closet instead...that means no more thrifting either :(

That's the July goal for sure...thx for the reminder ;D

  4. thanks for sharing..have to check out her blog...
great minds obviously...as I just posted about the Von Vonni convertible dress...its 99 bucks and can be tied/worn at least 25 different ways depending on your mood...I sold 4 dresses the day I posted it...
really is the biggest bang for your buck when you can wear something various ways.
Off to check out her blog...

  5. Love the idea! I feel lately I have been wearing the same outfit everyday too- the problem is that I am wearing the same outfit everyday. I should be out of the postpartum daze, but not quite.
Speaking for spending money on clothes... have you seen the giveaway I am hosting this week?? Your little one need to enter!

  8. I love her dress. But i think she should update everyday when she is doing a experiment like that. And i also think that it looks like she has taken 3 pictures with different looks at the same day, so i don't think she is actual wearing that dress everyday for a month.

By the way, your blog is very nice and you are so pretty (: love your style

  9. Hi Katrine - I agree, it would be nice to see her actually "living" in it day-to-day... but sometimes it's just so difficult as a blogger to make that happen! It's a very cool concept though, and made me think. Even though 85% of my wardrobe is from thrift shopping, I still find it a difficult task not to want to consume more and more all the time. I want to force myself to reevaluate what I already have before getting more.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts! And also for the compliments! I'm off to check of your blog now. xx
