Appreciate//Be love//Be here now

Sunday, July 7, 2013

Right now the hubs is headed to the airport to say goodbye to one of our friends who passed away over the weekend. We're devastated, sad, spooked and holding on to our little family so tight right now. Our hearts hurt for the woman who loved him and lost him. The idea of losing one another is unfathomable and too painful to imagine. So we will try again, like we try every day, to appreciate the gift of one another, this life and family we built together and each day we get to enjoy it, side by side.

I snapped these photos on a recent, family, neighborhood walk and as I look at them now, with grief in my heart and new eyes, I'm struck by the simple beauty of the world that I often neglect from day-to-day. I want to be here now and be the love that my family needs. My hope is the same for you. Tell your loved ones that you do. Tell them. Hug them. Don't let today pass without giving that one simple gift. Because life is a fragile, beautiful, fleeting thing. And the only thing that matters in this life is love. And those people who touch our hearts and make it better.

Dedicated to Joel Magaziner.
We love you, buddy.

Bits and pieces and trying to find moments between chaos to make this house a home.

Thankful

Thursday, November 22, 2012

The word "thankful" doesn't even begin to express the gratitude I feel for the life that I am currently living. There was a time (not so long ago) when I closed my eyes and wished, wished, wished upon a million stars to be right where I am today. It's not always easy, it's not always pretty, but it's right where I always wanted to be: Home.

I'm thankful for love.

For family.

And those carefree days I get to spend with my children while they are still small...

I'm thankful for good friends and good times...

A warm home and good food in our bellies.

The freedom to express my voice, thoughts and inspirations here...

And for all my lovely readers who just keep on reading...

With many thanks and gratitude,

T xx

Hello November {Remember who you are}

Remember these days...

The fam and I took a walk to Abbot Kinney last night for dinner and stopped along the way for some silly playtime. As magical as life is right now, sometimes I forget to take it all in... I have to remember to cherish as many moments as I can capture. Take actual (and mental) photographs to store away for another day. If I blink, it will be over. They will be grown. Proof: This little lady was my newborn only yesterday.

Grateful...Happy 4th!

Today I love my life. Today I am grateful.
Today I feel lucky that I can walk to meet a friend for lunch, and this is what surrounds me.
Today I am blessed with someone to love me, who I love back in a way I never knew existed before him.
Today I have a little girl who looks like my lover, but is a reflection of me in so many ways.
Today I have a little man growing inside my belly who reminds me just how fragile life is, because I know someday he'll lift me up and be stronger than my own two feet.
And the thought makes me smile.
Today I look around and realize that we may not have everything we want, but we have everything we need.
And I'm right where I'm supposed to be.

Date with my girlfriend

Friday, May 11, 2012

Yesterday I had the chance to spend some alone time with one of my favorite girls in the world... It's funny how my life has changed so much. Sometimes it still makes me smile that I've come so far. And although dates out with girlfriends are few and far between these days, there's one special girl who makes it all worth while... Perfect, in fact.

A stroll through Abbot Kinney (voted "coolest block in America by GQ!), some window shopping...

And one of our favorite places for lunch!

Red velvet cupcakes, lemonade, a serious sugar-love high and home to our favorite guy in the world. A wonderful day to celebrate the best thing that's ever happened to me. Becoming a mom.

Perfect. xx
