You know I love me some red lip. But if I had to be honest, my go-to makeup look when going out is smoky eyes and a nude lip.
Just like finding the perfect red lip routine, going nude takes a certain amount of prep.
And lucky for me, two of my sisters and one of my dear friends are professional makeup artists who keep me stocked with tricks and tools to get it right.
1: Brush your lips with a toothbrush and some sugar mixed with warm water to remove dry skin.
4: Apply a nude pencil liner on lipline and fill in the center as well. Use a deeper nude for darker toned lips, such as MAC Spice. A lighter tone for medium lips, such as MAC Carmellow or Whirl. A fair pencil for pale lips, such as MAC Subculture.

These are really great tips! It's true that nude lips require a bit of prep just like red lips... Because in my experience, nude lips can often show a lot of the imperfections! And natural skintone can interfere with the "nudeness" of the color.
ReplyDeleteI love the little story of how you came up with the name of your blog- it's really cute, and I think it is lovely that it has a special significance for you.

Wow lots of steps, no wonder when I simply put on the nude color it does not look good. Must try your way to give it a one more chance.
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips! I've never heard to brush your lips with warm water and sugar. I'll try that tonight because my lips have gotten so dry since it's turned cold. I think the nude lip is a great look for you. That first picture is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe concealer part is the best tip!
